Postpartum Doula Services

Postpartum Doula Services- ($35 per hour – 3 hour minimum) “What a postpartum doula does changes from day-to-day, as the needs of the family change. Postpartum doulas do whatever a mother needs to best enjoy and care for her new baby.   A large part of their role is education. They share information about baby care with parents, as well as teach siblings and partners to “mother the mother.” They assist with breastfeeding education. Postpartum doulas also make sure the mother is fed, well hydrated and comfortable.” (DONA)

I provide nanny-type care for baby and mama in the healing time after birth and I am also available for overnight baby care to help new parents get the rest they need. Postpartum care can include:

  • Mama care: Help with cleaning and home care, mental health, errands, meal prep, and more.
  • Consultation and Baby Care: Troubleshooting breastfeeding complications, pumping, after birth healing, nutrition, herbs, and supplements, baby wearing how-to, baby friendly sleep solutions, sibling rivalry, natural baby care, and more. I specialize in support for Attachment Parenting style baby care, a natural parenting style used throughout history for optimal emotional and physical health. As a baby wearing consultant for Boulder based company Boba Baby Carriers I help parents find the right carrier and get accustomed to babywearing. For more information on this method please see my Recommended Reading page.
  • Over-Night Care: A little extra night time help while the whole family adjusts to having a new baby. We make an individualized care plan based on feeding and sleeping preferences. I take over as much as possible while parents catch up on needed sleep.
